Gentle Reversi is built to respect your privacy. This page explains what the app does with your information — and, mostly, what it does not do.
Who we are
Gentle Reversi is made by Zero Camera Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (number 17254277) at Flat 53 White House, Vicarage Crescent, London SW11 3LH. Zero Camera Ltd is the data controller for the app. You can reach us any time at hello+reversi@zerocam.app.
Data we collect
We do not collect, store, or share any personal data. Gentle Reversi has no accounts of its own, no sign-in of its own and no server of ours. Your games, settings and progress stay on your device; online games are carried by Apple’s Game Center, described below.
Online play and Game Center
Playing online uses Apple’s Game Center. When you play a game by code or invite a friend, Game Center shows your Game Center nickname and avatar to the person you play, and theirs to you, and keeps the moves of the game on Apple’s servers so that both of you can pick it up later, even days apart. The game record Apple keeps holds the board, the moves and the Game Center identifiers of the two players, and the notification your opponent receives names you by your Game Center nickname. Gentle Reversi keeps the nicknames of people you recently played on your device only, so you can invite them again; it never sends them anywhere. We have no server and never receive your games, your nickname or your contacts. Game Center is run by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy, and you control it in your device settings.
Apple Music
If you choose Apple Music as the table’s music and allow access, Gentle Reversi plays playlists from your own Apple Music subscription and searches Apple’s catalogue for playlists that suit each table. Playback and searches go to Apple directly; nothing about what you listen to is sent to us or kept by us. The app’s own soundtrack needs no permission at all.
Purchases
Gentle Reversi Plus is a one-time purchase processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details or your name. The app asks Apple whether the purchase was made on your Apple Account and keeps that answer on your device; no purchase service of ours or of anyone else is involved.
Analytics and tracking
Gentle Reversi contains no analytics, no advertising, no third-party trackers and no cookies. We do not track you across apps or websites, and the app carries no advertising identifier.
Third-party services
The only third party involved is Apple: the App Store for distribution and payments, Game Center for online play and Apple Music for optional music. Gentle Reversi contains no other third-party code or service.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, the UK GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act you have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of any personal data we hold about you, and to object to how it is used. In practice the only thing we could ever hold is an email address you sent us yourself. Write to hello+reversi@zerocam.app and we will act on your request. We do not sell or share personal information, and we never have. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Children’s privacy
Gentle Reversi does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children. Because the app collects nothing, there is nothing about a child for us to hold.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will always be published on this page, with a new date at the top.
